GET READY FOR THE 2008 PARTY ON THE SHORT BUS!!!

We know it has been a long spring and summer since the last time the Crew gathered around the Bus for an Aggie game, but the wait is over. In a matter of days the fifth year of the Aggie Tailgating Macine making appearances at Aggie games will start. We have suffered through some dark times together and celebrated some big wins along the way but in 2008 the Short Bus will usher in the Coach Sherman era of Aggie Football.

Returning Tailgate Crew -

THE BANK IS NOW OPEN! That is right, now is the time to pay up and ensure that you and your family is part of the best tailgate party in Aggieland. Send in your dues and we'll still recognize you when you belly up to the tap!

The Bus -

Since 2004 the Aggie Tailgating Machine has been the foundation around which a growing bunch of Aggies and their families gather for home football games. Here you will find a history of our group in text and pictures. From construction of the bus to the end of the '07 season, it's all here to see and re-live. We hope to see all the old familiar faces and a lot of new ones in '08 ...

The Crew -

Our group has grown with each tailgate party and many friendships have been forged around the Bus. Those friends who support the effort both financially and with help in-kind are members of our "Tailgating Crew". Regulars come from all over Texas and we have a traveling contingent that has come straight to the Bus from Iraq. The tailgates require a lot of work and we are very appreciative of the effort that the Crew and our guests put into getting it all done, but being a member of the Crew is not a requirement to come by and hang out. We welcome all our friends, classmates, and acquaintances to come by and join our extended family at the Bus. You never know- you just might not want to leave!

SCHOLARSHIP EFFORT SUCCESSFUL!

In 2006, when one of our founding Crew members, Matthew Worrell '94, was killed in Iraq, his friends and family at the Short Bus sought a way to recognize his sacrifice. That fall they started raising funds to endow a Sul Ross Scholarship through the Texas A&M Foundation. Since then we have raised over $27,000, making the scholarship a reality and a success. We can not thank everyone who had a part in this effort enough for your contributions. As we go forward the Short Bus Tailgating Crew will continue to add to this total in honor of Matthew's selfless service.

The Aggie Tailgating Machine is of course not affiliated in any way with Texas A&M University or the Texas A&M University System. Anyone who knows us could never make that assumption. Most of us had to beg to get off campus; with or without a diploma. Anyway, we love Texas Aggie Football and all things Aggie and encourage all Former Students and fans to rabidly support Texas Aggie Football, Texas Aggie sports in general, Texas A&M University, the Association of Former Students, your local A&M Club, the Corps of Cadets, your old Dorm, or the bar where you drank back in the day. Most of all we ask that you remember all of our Servicemen and Servicewomen at home and overseas in your prayers.
